KDR – Well Engineering 2019

The 5th KDR-Well Engineering Forum was held in Nur-Sultan on 12th September 2019 under the sponsorship of KazMunayGas National Company and KazPetroDrilling JSC that act as platinum sponsors and general partners.

The KDR Forum was held in the mixed format combining conference presentations dedicated to the lessons learnt with the round-table discussions and mandatory questions-answers section where all delegates took part. A small number of exhibition stands was also arranged for those companies who want to present upstream oil and gas sector news.

The subject matter coverage was very diverse – ranging from well drilling and stimulation technologies to production and enhanced oil recovery (EOR). The equipment used in the drilling rigs, starting from top drives and drill pipes and power supply and control systems was also discussed.

KDR is a wonderful opportunity for operators, drilling contractors, service companies and suppliers to share knowledge and experience in order to understand the challenges that the companies face in the course of field development together.

The forum is a mandatory item on the annual meeting agenda for the representatives of top executive and technical management of major operators, service companies, drilling contractors and equipment suppliers.

As advised earlier, Askhat Duissaliyev, President of KazPetroDrilling JSC, took part in the forum and made the Holding and oil & gas well drilling market presentation. In addition to this, Nurlan Aliyev from Burgylau (drilling of horizontal wells at the Ozenmunaygaz field) and Zhandos Gaziz from Kaskor-Mashzavod JSC (tubing with EXPE lining) also made presentations during the round table sessions.

The forum helps to set objectives for future development of the oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan and enables international companies to build long-term business relationships with key players in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas market.

The KDR facilitators have chosen the address format of liaison from the very beginning: instead of covering the whole oil and gas sector in Kazakhstan, they develop a program in line with certain needs and demands of the well engineering companies.
